Fiction Found

Fiction Found is a series of cozy, romantic book retreats designed for readers who want more than just a weekend getaway—they want connection, comfort, and a chance to feel completely at ease with people who just get it.

We host seasonal retreats across the country, from beachside mornings in Maine to flannel-filled weekends in the mountains. No matter the setting, the vibe is always the same: books, belonging, and a soft place to land.

why fiction found?

Because through fiction, I found myself.

Like so many of us, I turned to books in the quiet moments, the hard seasons, and the in-between times. Stories helped me feel seen, soothed, and less alone. Fiction became the thread that connected me not just to characters—but to real friendships, real feelings, and real community.

That’s what these retreats are built on: the idea that stories can bring us home to ourselves—and to each other.

Start by submitting the form below to be considered for a formal invite. We send out invitations in waves, and if selected, you’ll get a window of time to pay your deposit and officially save your spot.

Due to demand, not everyone who applies will be able to attend right away—but we hope you’ll keep trying. Each retreat is a little different, and we’d love to find the right one for you in the future.

Your invite will include all the good stuff—payment plan options, due dates, extra questions we’ll need from you, and a few little tidbits to help you get excited.

How it Works

1. Fill out the interest form

Once you’re in, we’ll ease into things together. You’ll be added to a group chat, and we’ll have optional group calls to get familiar before the retreat even starts. It’s all super chill—no pressure, just good vibes.

2. Get to know the group

Each retreat has 2–3 assigned books tied to the theme or local authors. You don’t have to read all of them, but we will be discussing them at the retreat—so try to read at least one (you might fall in love with it).

3. Read with us

Before the retreat, you’ll get your room assignment, a customized packing list, a rough itinerary, and closer to the date, a more detailed one. You’ll know what to expect, but still have plenty of room for spontaneity.

4. Prep and pack

Retreats usually run Thursday to Sunday. You’ll have a mix of group events, cozy downtime, reading hours, and space to explore the town if you want to. While travel isn’t coordinated, the group chat is the perfect place to link up with others on flights, carpools, or airport pickups.

5. Retreat weekend

After that? You’re officially part of the Fiction Found fam. We hope you’ll come back again, but even if it’s a one-time thing—once you've been, you're always one of us.

6. You're in the club

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the cost?

While every retreat is slightly different, this breakdown below encompasses the general breakdown for the cost of each retreat. The cost may vary depending on location and duration of stay.
  • Your stay in the house for the entire trip
  • All of your meals during your stay, unless otherwise stated upon sign up! Sometimes we go out as a group for a lunch and require everyone to handle their own depending on the situation.
  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • Dedicated snacks through the trip, though every retreat is BYOS encouraged!
  • Coffee, coffee, coffee!
  • A tote bag designed to the theme of the retreat
  • 6-8 books
  • Various items from small businesses like bookmarks, kindle charms, stickers, and more
  • Group event, varies from retreat to retreat

how do room assignments work?

When picking houses for the retreats, we look for houses with as many bunk beds and twins as we can, so we don't have to do too many bed buddies!

Sometimes that doesn't work out, though.

Currently the process goes as follows: people who already know each other, whether that be friends who signed up or previous attendees I know are friends, will be paired up first and put in queens. If we have to do people who haven't previously known each other together, we look at putting you in a king bed together as the priority and you will be made aware very early on so you can get to know this person, and I will always reach out to make sure you're okay with it before doing so.

If for whatever reason you want to request a bed by yourself up front, please reach out as soon as possible so I can arrange that! I will never let you come into a retreat uncomfortable.

What if I have food allergies?

Not a problem. I ask for all allergies up front and will always make sure you have something to eat for every single meal.

What if I get invited then can't come?

Your options depend on when you have to decline the invite.

Prior to making any payments, you can decline the invite and be put back into the pool for whatever future retreats you want to attend!

Once you've made a payment, you forfeit your spot and are unable to receive a refund. Up front, I'm immediately booking houses and purchasing goodies for your backs, sometimes I'm even booking events very far out. That said, if there is another retreat of interest to you that is open, I'm happy to transfer you to that retreat, no fee required. I appreciate everyone's understanding of this situation!

how is communication done before retreats?

You know, we've tried this so many different ways... between emails, group chat apps, etc. Moving forward, all communication is done through Instagram group chats to ensure we all get to engage if we choose to, I have features for polls, and to keep your personal information – like your phone number – private. You don't have to participate 24/7, but I do ask that you check in periodically to make sure you haven't missed anything!

I've seen authors come to the retreats before.. will an author always be there?

In the past, we've been incredibly grateful for so much author participation. We've had authors come for the whole weekend and stay with us, authors pop in for the day, and authors join virtually. This is not guaranteed for every trip, so if you're coming to see authors, I fear you've come to the wrong place. I hope to continue with author participation, but I promise, it does not make or break or retreat.

I'm an author or vendor and i'd Love to donate. how can I do so?

I could not do this without the support of our authors – indie or trad – and our small businesses. If you're interested in donating something for the girls, we would absolutely love that. Feel free to email me at toriannreads@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram to get that sorted!

the girl behind the bookshelf

I’m Tori: lifelong romance reader, and probably wearing an oversized sweatshirt as you read this.

I created these retreats because I wanted something I couldn’t quite find anywhere else. A space that felt like a deep breath. Like a girls’ weekend, but with more books and better snacks. Like a room full of strangers who somehow feel like friends by the end of the weekend.

I believe in slow mornings, emotional reads, inside jokes in group chats, and the magic of being surrounded by people who feel like home. If that sounds like your kind of thing, you’re in the right place.
